Ahead of each of United's games this season, we are looking back at memorable matches against their next opponents.

February 26, 2013: Gillingham 0, Oxford United 1

ALFIE Potter's 84th-minute goal gave Oxford United a sensational win at League Two leaders Gillingham.

An evenly-matched contest had looked to be heading for a draw, but the winger scampered clear and beat goalkeeper Stuart Nelson late on to claim all three points for Chris Wilder's side.

U's goalkeeper Luke McCormick was called into action after just four minutes when he tipped Joe Martin's effort over the bar.

United quickly gained a foothold and Potter, Sean Rigg and Liam Davis all impressed, although the away side were unable to create any clear chances.

Bradley Dack should have put the hosts ahead shortly before half-time, but McCormick parried and the sides went in goalless at the break.

Both sets of defenders excelled as the stalemate continued after the restart, with debutant Antonio German almost breaking the deadlock for Gillingham.

But it was the visitors who finally found the net, with Tony Capaldi releasing Potter to shock the home support.

It became a question of whether United could hold on, but Wilder's men dug deep and got over the line.

Oxford Utd: McCormick, Batt, Raynes, Wright, Davis, Chapman, Heslop (Duberry 86), Capaldi, Rigg, Potter, Smalley (Constable 73).
