KARL Robinson has confirmed an interest in three players linked with a move to Oxford United this month.

The head coach was hoping to have two players in before today’s Emirates FA Cup tie against Hartlepool United.

Neither deal is complete, but both are still on track – with one player expected to watch on from the stands today.

United have been linked with loan moves for West Ham winger Nathan Holland and Feyenoord midfielder Liam Kelly, plus a permanent switch for Kilmarnock right back Steven O’Donnell.

When asked about the rumours, Robinson replied: “Two of them are done, we believe. We have to wait and see now.

“When I say done, we know players want to come here but obviously there are different things we have to get right.

“Steven is someone I spoke to many moons ago when he was a free agent.

“We haven’t spoken about anything yet with the club (Kilmarnock). He’s certainly a player I know of.

“He’s on the list, but there are 50 other right backs on our list.”

Oxford Mail:

Robinson is also after a second-choice left back – and a familiar name appeared on his radar yesterday.

He said: “It’s a crazy one and I know the fans will get excited, but even Ricardinho came up yesterday as a second-choice left back.

“His agent called me yesterday out of the blue.

“He would certainly suit the way we play now.

“We’ll see, we do need a second choice left back. In an ideal world we’d like one who is 20 that we could develop.”

Ricardinho is a free agent, having been released by Dutch club FC Twente at the end of last season and is back in Brazil.
