KARL Robinson revealed Oxford United had been battling a sickness bug which meant the Boxing Day victory over Lincoln City was extra satisfying.
Up to half the starting line-up were under the weather, but Shandon Baptiste's rocket earned a hard-fought 1-0 win.
The result took the U's up to third in the Sky Bet League One table.
Robinson, United's head coach, said: "It’s a wonderful win.
"We wouldn’t have said this if we had lost, but we’ve got four or five players who are really not well.
"It’s spread like wildfire, it was like being in a chemist before the game.
"James Henry was carrying something, Tariqe as well. It was an unbelievable ask from the players and I’m so proud of their efforts."
He added: "I’m so happy. If anyone had seen my reaction, that’s the most I’ve celebrated a win.
"That was big, it really does switch the momentum.
"Lincoln will take points off teams, because they will get better. I’m sure January can’t come quickly enough for them."
