Rutherford beat closest challengers British Rail 6-4 to move three points clear at the top of Division 1 of the Oxford & District League.
But star player Lewis Waddup finally came unstuck, losing to Neil Cartwright to break his record of 23 successive wins for the season.
Forum A swept Brookes aside 9-1, with maximums for Fraser Harris and Karl Bushell, and Anthony Lewis claiming the consolation point.
In Division 2, James Speedy and Simon Cox were on song as leaders Vikings A beat Forum F 7-3 to make it ten wins from ten.
Meanwhile, Forum I beat Vikings B 7-3 and Forum H beat Holton D by the same scoreline, leaving the former just three points above their clubmates at the top of Division 3.
