MATTY Taylor is in the running for Sky Bet League One’s player of the month award.

Oxford United only played two league games in November, but the striker made a big impact.

After heading in a stoppage-time equaliser at Portsmouth, he scored twice in the 4-0 thrashing of Southend United.

Taylor is the third U’s player in as many months to be short-listed, following James Henry and Tariqe Fosu.

He is up against fellow front men Armand Gnanduillet (Blackpool) and Darryl Murphy (Bolton Wanderers), plus Wycombe Wanderers full back Joe Jacobson.

The winners will be announced on Friday.
