AN IMPRESSIVE 14 members from Abingdon Vale SC produced fine displays for their schools at the prestigious National ESSA Championship at the Olympic Pool in London.
All the teams improved their positions from qualifying, with St Helen and St Katharine’s senior girls’ team taking a storming fourth place in the final of the medley relay and seventh in the freestyle event.
Abingdon School’s senior team finished ninth, while Didcot Girls School climbed seven places to come 11th in the medley relay.
However, the highlight of their day was meeting Olympic diver Tom Daley – who happily obliged with a selfie with some of the group.
