DARRELL Clarke has overhauled the Walsall squad since being named manager in the wake of the club’s relegation from Sky Bet League One in May.
Clarke brought in 16 new additions during the summer, although the Saddlers’ lowly position in the table suggests the team is taking time to gel.
Nonetheless, Oxford United should keep a watchful eye on these players tomorrow.
CAOLAN LAVERY
The striker is in need of a long-term home in English football after a series of loan spells.
Lavery has five goals this season and buried his one chance in the 1-0 Emirates FA Cup first round replay win over Darlington.
WES MCDONALD
A winger that always looks to take opponents on, McDonald is another of Clarke’s new additions.
The 22-year-old is an exciting prospect and has the talent to hurt United’s full backs if given the chance to run with the ball.
JOSH GORDON
After a difficult start to the season, Gordon has found the net more regularly in November.
He bagged a hat-trick in a 6-0 Leasing.com Trophy thrashing of Forest Green Rovers, four days before a crucial strike in Walsall’s 2-1 victory over Cambridge United.
