ORACLE’S Mark Trafford won his first All England Grand Prix, with teammate Pauline Withey the runner-up in the ladies competition.
The pair enjoyed more success in the Oxford & District League, but they were unable to secure victory against Division 2 leaders Vikings B.
Trafford (10,310 & 7,740) claimed two victories for the Premier Division table-toppers in the 3-3 draw, while Withey won the other point.
Lewis Stratford (5,810 & 3,960) and Melvyn Johnson triumphed for Vikings B.
Vikings A beat Berinsfield 5-1, with Mick Jones, Alan Oliver and Allan Lacey all winning.
David Naylor claimed Berinsfield’s point with a personal best score of 7,780, including a top break of 4,860
Two wins apiece from Sid Ponting and Tim Jeffreys led Headington Con Club to a 4-2 home victory over Staff Club.
Chris Bateman won twice for the visitors.
Division 1 pacesetters Masons Arms drew 3-3 at Gladiators Club, Bert Lovegrove (9,770) in brilliant form for the home side.
Democrats were held to a 3-3 home draw by Donnington.
John Patey (11,030) was the hosts' top scorer, while Jenny Florey and Sue Atkins shone for Donnington.
