HINKSEY Heights will trial a new format of the game next month – something billed as golf’s answer to Twenty20 cricket.
Super Sixes is aimed at making the sport more accessible by speeding up play and reducing the amount of time it takes for a round.
Played over six holes with six clubs, the new format is hoped to try to widen golf’s appeal.
Hinksey members tried it out in September and the club are now staging a trial from December 9-14, with the loop consisting of the first, second, 15th, 16th, eighth and then the ninth or 18th holes.
Available from 10am, green fees will be cut to £6 during the week and £8 at the weekend.
