JAMIE Wakefield won three titles across two competitions as Oxfordshire players continued their gold rush.

The under 13 bagged a double in Swindon, including gold with fellow Oxford player Joe Hurst in the boys doubles.

Wakefield also twice beat the top seeds to win the mixed doubles alongside new partner Lilly Mae Wood of Yorkshire.

The youngster then claimed gold in the boys singles at the Hertfordshire U13, beating Surrey’s Ruben Bird 22-20 in a thrilling final.

Elsewhere, Anthony Peverell added gold at the Leicestershire U15 tournament to his medal collection.

Peverell beat top seed Joren Lunn, from Yorkshire, to take the title.

Oxfordshire’s players had yet more joy at the Warwickshire U17 competition, with Sutton Courtenay’s Holly Craig partnering Didcot’s Albie Marriott to mixed doubles gold.

Jess Street, from Banbury, claimed silver in the girls doubles alongside Northamptonshire’s Megan Shields.

Meanwhile, Oxfordshire U16s crushed Shropshire 20-0, despite having several regular players unavailable.
