EDDIE Pepperell recorded a superb six-under-par 66 in the second round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship today.
The Abingdon golfer, who is playing with former South African cricketer AB de Villiers, hit four birdies and an eagle at Kingsbarns.
It moved the Frilford Heath member to just outside the top-20 following his opening-day two-under 70.
Their combined 11-under total saw them shoot up the leaderboard, but they are still well down the big field.
Pepperell eagled the par-five third before birdies at the fifth, sixth and ninth saw him reach the turn five-under.
He then picked up another shot on the 14th
Pepperell is in action at St Andrews tomorrow (11.01).
