BEN Cumberland won bronze at the British Elite Youth Championships.
The King Alfred’s Academy pupil produced a fine display at Mallory Park in Leicestershire.
Cumberland, 16, was on the podium at the same event as a 14-year-old, but then suffered a stress fracture to his second metatarsal in his right foot and was out of competition for 12 months.
But training at Wantage White Horse Swimming Club and Radley Athletics Club, he returned to fitness – and form – in style.
- GARRY James led home a host of Bicester Tri members at the Ironman Weymouth 70.3 event.
His time of 4hrs 52mins 42secs sealed 21st place.
