BANBURY United were beaten by Hednesford Town in last night’s BetVictor Southern League Premier Central clash.
Mike Ford’s side conceded a goal at the end of each half as they lost 2-0 away from home.
The Puritans fell behind on the stroke of half-time when Tom Elliott was fouled in the box by goalkeeper Jack Harding and James Hurst converted the resulting penalty.
Six minutes from time the points were secured when Danny Glover was put through on goal and rounded Harding before slotting home.
Division 1 Central basement side Wantage Town were on the end of another heavy defeat.
After losing 7-0 at home to leaders Berkhamsted on Saturday, they were last night beaten by the same scoreline at AFC Dunstable.
The match was goalless for the opening half-hour, but the hosts then scored three times before the break from Bernard Christie (2) and Luke Abraham.
Things got no better after half-time as Nathan Frater made it 4-0, Joshua Crawley hit No 5 and Taylor Rhiney made it six.
To rub salt into the wound for the visiting side, Christie completed his hat-trick in injury time.
