OXFORDSHIRE’S Over 50 B side bid to make it a remarkable four successive titles tomorrow.
They have won the past three Southern Counties Seniors Championship finals, and can extend that incredible sequence when they face Gloucestershire at Marlborough CC (12 noon).
Since being formed by the late Chris Bishop and the Oxfordshire Cricket Board in 2015, the team have won 43 of their 47 matches.
Amazingly, 17 of those wins have come against first-class county senior sides such as Surrey, Middlesex and Hampshire.
Captain Ross Buchanan is relishing another final.
“It’s been a magical winning run involving a
tight-knit, fantastic bunch of talented guys who I’m deeply proud of,” he said.
“They play for each other with such humour and competitive spirit, it’s a joy to be their skipper.
“A fourth trophy in a row would be a real cherry on top of an already very tasty cake!”
