BRISTOL Rovers are wary of getting sidetracked by Matty Taylor’s return with Oxford United tomorrow.

There will be plenty of attention on the 29-year-old, who joined on loan from Bristol City on Monday.

It will be his first time back at the Memorial Stadium since a prolific spell with the Pirates ended with a transfer to their bitter cross-city rivals in 2017.

But assistant manager Joe Dunne stressed the home side’s players will be focused on all United’s threats.

He told the Bristol Post: “That is something other people can deal with.

“I am sure he will get a good reception, or maybe not.

“We have to concentrate on our preparation, we pride ourselves in the work we do.

“There are plenty of other players in Oxford’s team who have quality so we have to do our due diligence on them and not just focus on one player.”
