Oxford United director and main financial backer Ian Lenagan has completed his takeover of Super League side Wigan Warriors.
But he says it won't make a difference to his role with the U's.
Lenegan said: "It has absolutely no impact whatsoever on my role at Oxford United. My role with Oxford is strategic rather than day-to-day."
The millionaire Harlequins boss was strongly linked with Warriors earlier this year after current owner Dave Whelan revealed he was considering selling.
Lenagan will become the new owner with an 89 per cent stake on December 1.
As he cannot run two RL clubs, he will step down as chairman of Harlequins and will make a further announcement on Monday.
