SERIES leader Andy Benwell continued his dominance of the Oxford Carp League when claiming victory in the eighth round.

The Kidlington angler triumphed with 100lb 6oz 0drms on Molands Mere, Packington Somers, West Midlands.

Benwell caught carp and F1s early on the pellet feeder, before switching to pole and pellet both shallow and on the deck to finish well clear of the field.

His latest victory helped him open up an 11-point lead over Dave Wilson, who could only come 11th.

Kidlington teammate Gerry Foley was second with 63.6.0 as method feeder to the far bank accounted for the majority of his catch.

Craig Partridge ensured the top three was an all-Kidlington affair, fishing a combination of method feeder, straight lead and pellet waggler for 61.12.0.

Elsewhere, Chris Webb triumphed in the third round of Littlemore AS’ Aggregate Cup at Pines Lake, Alders Farm.

Fishing just on the top four with pellet, he caught carp for 136.6.0.

Meanwhile, club anglers can now enter the Littlemore AS/ODAA Thames Shield Festival, which takes place at Donnington and Sandford on August 25-26.
