OXFORD Saints have had two players called up to the Great Britain squad for the Women’s European Championships.
Running back Josephine White will be making her international debut in the tournament in Leeds, which also includes Finland, Austria and Sweden.
She said: “I can’t wait to pull on the GB jersey and deliver a gold medal in front of a home crowd.”
Defensive lineman Monica Lewinska is in her fifth season with the GB team.
The event takes place next week, culminating on Saturday, August 17.
Saints are looking for women aged 17 and over to join in recruitment days on August 24 and 31 at Horspath Sports Ground.
All fitness levels are welcome and no previous experience of the sport is required.
- OXFORD Saints’ men avoided relegation on the last day of their SFC Central Division 1 season.
Despite having a depleted squad, they won 22-13 to leapfrog Berkshire Renegades, who lost their final match.
