EDDIE Pepperell finished well down the field at the Open Championship.
The Abingdon golfer found the going tough over the weekend.
He started his final two rounds on level par, but then shot a five-under 76 and three-over 74.
It saw him finish in 71st.
Ironically, Pepperell began his third round well, picking up a shot at the second.
But he failed to hit another birdie, with six bogeys seeing him drop down the leaderboard.
An eventful final round saw him shoot three birdies and three bogeys in the first seven holes.
But a birdie, three bogeys and double bogey saw him fall further.
