Leamington 2 (Mackey 38, 50)
Banbury Utd 0
BANBURY, missing the unwell Andy Baird and the suspended Wayne Blossom, completed a hat-trick of exits form FA competitions (after losing in the Trophy and Touth Cup)when going down to their in-form Southern League Division 1 Midlands & North opponents.
The home side were uncomfortable whenever Sammy Ibrahim or Lewis Travers had the ball.
But Troy Bryan was not his usual self and Matt Murphy, making his first start of the season, had his hands full against Leamingon's tall back three of Arron Parkinson, Adam Cooper and Ryan Parisi.
Against the run of play, Leamington took the lead in the 39th minute when a ricochet saw the ball reach Ben Mackey, who coolly netted past the stranded Andy Wheeler.
Leamington dominated play after the break, but scored only once more.
After giving away the ball, Banbury saw Josh Blake and Russell Dunkley feed Mackey, who slotted honme from five yards.
Banbury rallied in the last ten minutes, sub Murray Nicholls having their only shot on target.
Banbury Utd: Wheeler, Travers, Kinch, Essex, Milner, Fuller, Beckett (Feely 64), Bridges, Bryan (Nicholls 67), Murphy, Ibrahim (Gooderick 55). Subs not used: Sullivan, Murrell.
