ALICE Powell survived a nasty scare in the fourth round of the W Series in Germany.

The Chipping Norton driver was involved in a collision with Esmee Hawkey at the Norisring today.

Powell was taken to the circuit’s medical centre and then went on to a local clinic for an X-ray.

But that revealed no fractures and she was later given the all-clear to take part in the second practice session in the afternoon.

Hawkey was unhurt, but damage to her car meant she was unable to take part in the later session.

The Oxfordshire driver has experienced mixed fortunes in the W Series – an all-female championship.

Powell finished on the podium in the first two races, before suffering a bad crash in the last round in Misano, Italy.
