GARSINGTON & Cowley halted Witney Swifts’ Division 1 dominance by inflicting their first defeat of the season.

Uzair Ahmad (76) saw Garsington to 175 all out, Craig Horne taking 5-16.

Chris Asque scored 60 in Swifts’ reply, but they were restricted to 159-9 and fell to a 16-run defeat as Bilal Khan took 4-33.

Mark Strong’s five-wicket haul helped Westcott to an 83-run win over Middleton Cheney to move up to third.

Westcott posted 189-9 as Alimar Khan top-scored with 72 not out, before Strong claimed 5-30 to help to dismiss Middleton for only 106 in their reply.

Marsh Gibbon are still winless following a seven-wicket defeat on the Target Score method at Stonesfield.

Joe Leonard top-scored with 67 in Marsh Gibbon’s 147 all out, and after a rain break, Stonesfield chased the revised target of 167 for the loss of three wickets, Jamie Burns leading the way with 76 not out.

Faringdon lost by one run at home to Oxenford.

Vjiay Pamu (47) helped the visitors to 183-8.

Rob Owen hit 75 in Faringdon’s reply, but they finished agonisingly short on 182-9.

Chipping Norton eased to an eight-wicket win against visitors Wolvercote after dismissing their rivals for 129, Jim McGeown taking 3-27.

Imran Hussain then hit 60 and Ian Widdows 47 not out to steer Chippy to 130-2.

In Division 2, Shaun Morton smashed a brilliant 139 not out to help Wootton & Boars Hill to a crushing 178-run victory at Hanborough.

Morton helped Wootton to 252-8, and Hanborough then slumped to 74 all out as Damien Wiskin took 5-28 and Nik King 4-24.

Stanton Harcourt stayed top after beating hosts Watlington by two wickets.

The home side were restricted to 106-9, and then Stanton edged in at 107-8, despite Rama Garimella taking 5-27.

Bampton eased past local rivals Kilkenny by seven wickets.

Kilkenny were restricted to 126-8 before Ed Landray scored 68 not out to lead Bampton home at 130-3.

Tetsworth defeated Clifton Hampden by three wickets.

Clifton posted 178-7, Morley Benson top-scoring with 78.

A half-century from Arun Patel (55), and good knocks from Kush Bhatt (38) and Palak Patel (34) helped Tetsworth to 180-7.

East & West Hendred moved up to third with a seven-wicket win over Cairns Fudge.

Nigel George claimed 4-27 to help to bowl Fudge out for 125, then Jon Francis hit 51 not out in Hendred’s 126-3.

Youngster Ollie Deans took a hat-trick in his 4-31, but saw his Marcham side lose by one wicket at Dorchester in Division 3.

Marcham were shot out for 102, pace bowler Thom Airs (3-21) striking with the first ball of the match, but nearly pulled off an unlikely win thanks to Deans’ heroics.

Hook Norton maintained their 100 per cent record as they edged out Risinghurst by one wicket.

They bowled Risinghurst out for 152, Sandeep George hitting 65. Max Harris (46) then led Hooky to 155-9.

Andy Wynd scored a century for Brill in their 75-run win at Wantage.

Wynd hit 118 in Brill’s 259-4, then Wantage were bowled out for 184, despite Barry Martin’s 69.

In Division 4, Orville Palmer’s 5-17 helped Shrivenham to a ten-wicket win over Garsington & Cowley 2nd.

Garsington were dismissed for 62, with Shrivenham cruising to 64-0, Manoj Perera hitting 47 not out.

Phil Armstrong claimed 6-22 for Steventon as they eased to a 99-run win at Witney Swifts.

Steventon set 194-8, Jonny Simmonds hitting 49 not out, before Swifts fell for 95 with Armstrong to the fore.

Haris Malak took 4-7 for Wolvercote 2nd in their eight-wicket win over Chadlington, while West Ilsley saw off hosts Oxenford 2nd by three wickets as they successfully chased down the home side’s 160 all out.

David Buckle took six wickets for Letcombe, but finished on the losing side at Tetsworth 2nd in Division 5.

James Crook hit 85 in Tetsworth’s 240 all out, Buckle taking 6-45.

Letcombe were then shot out for 52, Sunil Gil taking 4-11.

Marcus Hall’s 5-21 saw Freeland to a six-wicket win over East & West Hendred 2nd. Hendred were all out for 111, then Marc Buckingham hit 55 in Freeland’s 112-4.

In Division 6, Chesterton edged a thriller with Westcott 2nd by six runs.

Graham White (90no) helped Chesterton to 199-7, then James Vickers took 4-58 as the visitors were all out for 193, Alex Mitchell hitting 50.

Stonesfield 2nd eased to an 85-run win at Kidlington 3rd in Division 7 North.

Sam Townsend (67no) helped Stonesfield to 199-7, before Adam Lambert took 4-13 and Liam Hatton 3-11 as the hosts were out for 114.

Sam McKay had a brilliant day for Chinnor in their 156-run victory at Sunningwell 2nd in Division 7 South.

McKay top-scored with 69 not out as Chinnor posted 210-3, before starring with the ball, taking 6-9 as Sunningwell slumped to 54 all out.

Johnnie Fisher’s 109 not out helped Wootton & Boars Hill to a 56-run win at home to Harwell International.
