OXFORD City Stars will revert to playing in yellow and blue next season following a poll among supporters.

It attracted 54 per cent of votes submitted to the club, signalling a return to the combination which had been worn for several years up to last season.

The nearest challenger was to retain the white-grey-black combination, which finished with 21 per cent.

The away kit is the reverse of the home, so will be blue and yellow.

Jo Mundy, part of the new-look Stars board, said: “The response was fantastic and a big thank you to every supporter who emailed in to cast their vote.

“A vote was the fairest way possible for us to really say the new colours are the club’s and colours that should stay in place.”

Fellow director Grant Shergold added: “We appreciate it is not possible to please everybody, but with yellow and blue achieving more than half the votes we believe we can now say they are the club colours and we can be proud to say it is the Oxford City Stars.

“This is an exciting time for the Stars and with the fans’ vote now completed we can begin to look at the new kit design, which we will share as soon as possible.”
