TOM Stanley smashed a four-timer as Saxton Rovers dumped holders Berinsfield out of the North Berks League Cup with a crushing 6-0 semi-final win, writes RICHARD UNDERWOOD.

In front of around 120 spectators, Berinsfield started brightly, before Stanley put Rovers in front.

The Saxton striker completed a first-half hat-trick when he converted a Daniel Parry pass and, minutes later, fired home at a corner.

Stanley turned provider after the break when his cross was side-footed home by Niall Hodgkins, before he added his fourth and Saxton’s fifth.

Berinsfield’s day got worse when they were reduced to ten men as Max Palmer was sent off for a late challenge.

Kyle Allsworth then added to their misery, completing the rout with Saxton’s sixth.

They will meet Division 2 side Drayton in the final after they thrashed Division 1 outfit East Hendred 6-1.

Pat Walsh and Nathan Merry both scored twice, with Josh Dennis and Alex Kerry also finding the target.

Mike Hooton netted a consolation for Ardington.

In Division 2, Watlington Town’s 6-0 win over Blewbury kept them on track for the title.

Jason Williams hit a hat-trick, with Darren Outen (2) and Martin Williams also on target.

Cholsey United beat Compton 6-0, thanks to Martin Dawson’s treble.

Craig Passey, Will Clements and James Pardue were also on the scoresheet.

East Hendred Res and Sutton Courtenay battled out a 5-5 draw.

Hendred’s goals came from Connor Keen (2), Ben Eltham, Liam Eltham and Liam Revell.

Sutton replied through Callum Stewart (2), Sam McKenna (2) and Jack Dingwall.
