EDDIE Pepperell saw a three-hole lead slip to finish all square with Justin Rose at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

The Oxfordshire golfer was never behind in the contest and looked all set to claim a scalp in Austin, Texas.

But Rose, the world number two, won three of the final four holes to salvage a draw.

Pepperell won the third hole with a par four, but Rose immediately levelled when his opponent missed the green at the short fourth hole.

A brilliant approach shot to four feet claimed an eagle on the par-five sixth hole got the Frilford Heath member one up again.

And another fine iron shot peppered the flag on the ninth, where a birdie doubled his lead.

Rose was wayward to lose the tenth and slip three down, but a remarkable shot from a fairway bunker helped win him the 12th hole.

The three-hole lead was restored when Rose three-putted the 14th, but he responded to win the next hole.

A birdie putt from off the green at the 17th hole kept the match alive and Rose holed his birdie putt to get back to all square at the last.

Pepperell, who lost his opening match to Gary Woodland 2 & 1 yesterday, faces Emiliano Grillo in the final round robin contest tomorrow.
