CUMNOR Cricket Club has re-branded itself as The Cumnor Bears.
The side, whose nickname has been ‘the Bears’ for a number of years, has released a new logo on its kit ahead of the new Cherwell League season.
It is hoped the change is the start of a transition which will help the 122-year club continue to prosper in the future.
Chairman, Ken Mannering, said: “We hope our new brand will be a step towards
ensuring the heritage of our wonderful club will continue to grow for generations to
come.
“Cumnor has a great record of not only producing
high-quality cricketers, but also enriching the lives of its members.
“We hope these changes will safeguard the future of the club and allow all Cumnor Bears to prosper.”
Ahead of the 2019 season, the Bears have agreed a
three-year sponsorship deal with Long Hanborough-based company Amber Financial Planning.
John Fissenden, managing director, said: “We are both proud and excited to be part
of the club’s vision for the future.
“Everyone involved with the club strives towards the same goals to inspire each other, grow as a team and lead the club to new heights.”
Cumnor hope that their new brand will be the start of further success both on and off the field.
Long-term goals include creating a women’s team, redeveloping the clubhouse and the men’s first XI gaining promotion to the Home Counties Premier League for the first time.
