BEN Charlesworth is relishing the chance to again shine on the international stage after being called up to the England Young Lions team for their tour to Bangladesh.

The Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire batsman is named in a 15-man squad to play two Tests, three one-day internationals and one T20.

The St Edward’s School pupil, who plays his club cricket with Oxford having formerly featured for Abingdon Vale, made his mark for England Under 19s last season.

And the 19-year-old is hoping to take the step up in his stride.

“When I found out I was selected for Bangladesh I was over the moon,” he said.

“Playing in Bangladesh will be a great chance for me to showcase my skills and help the team to be successful against what will no doubt be a strong side.”

He added: “Playing for England U19s has been a fantastic experience.

“I’ve been really fortunate to work with some of the best coaches around who have really helped me to develop my game further.

“The feeling of putting on an England shirt is not really something I think I’ll ever be able to describe. I feel immensely proud.”
