SHANDON Baptiste will miss the rest of the season after a scan revealed the severity of the Oxford United midfielder’s knee injury.
The 20-year-old faces eight-ten months on the side-lines after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Brentford in the Emirates FA Cup.
Baptiste had just returned from 11 weeks out following shoulder surgery, but was on the pitch for only six minutes at Griffin Park before he was in agony after a freak fall.
He will now see a specialist this week to determine a better timescale for his recovery.
U’s boss Karl Robinson said: “I've spoken to him every day and he's disappointed and upset, but we're all here for him and will give him the support he needs.

“He's in tomorrow morning and will see a specialist. Hopefully we'll get him in for an operation before the weekend, if not early next week.”
