OXFORD Karate Club have had a memorable run of success.
A sensational display in the Seiwakai Open International in London saw members return with seven gold, two silver and 11 bronze medals.
The highlight came in the 14/15-year-old cadet boys goju kata competition where Oxford scooped a superb one-two-three finish, with Daniel Hutton winning gold, Tariq Saeed silver and Isaac Henderson bronze.
Hutton also landed the kumite crown and picked up a bronze in the open style kata, along with Henderson.
Conor Davies won a gold and bronze in the over 18 category, with other victories coming courtesy of Toree Gilboy, twice, Charlie Hutton and Ali Haouam, who also picked up a bronze.
Hkanhpa Sadan won a silver and bronze, Kieran Bennett three bronzes and Ilana Cope two.
Not to be outdone, at the International Seiwakai Karate seminar in London, Thomas Belassie and Giulio Zacchetti
passed their black belts.
And the club’s chief instructor Paul
Coleman (7th Dan) has been voted in as the UK and global technical vice-president.
