OXFORD University fell to a 33-14 defeat at home to Richmond in their final warm-up game before next month’s Varsity Match.
The Dark Blues face Cambridge University at Twickenham on Thursday, December 6 and head into the clash with seven wins from their ten fixtures.
But they were unable to sign off ahead of the crunch clash with a victory.
An entertaining encounter against Richmond was level at 14-14 at half-time.
George Tresidder and Tom Stileman, who has crossed seven times this season, went over for Oxford, Tom Humberstone converting both.
But the hosts made a number of changes at the break, and the visitors took advantage to score three unanswered tries.
