CARTERTON Social Club got the better of the West Oxford Democrats Club in a closely-fought Cowley Workers ODDA Premier Division clash.
The hosts got off to a flying start and led 3-0, only for Lennon Craddock, Ashley Presley (180) and Phil Say to level the scores.
However, Carterton ran out 6-3 winners when Tom Baughan, Ade Larner and Michael Kearns all recorded victories.
The Bell Inn won a thriller against Catherine Wheel in Section 2.
Victories for Scott Bennett, Scott Mercer-Rolls and James Green (180) put the hosts 3-1 ahead.
But Catherine Wheel hit back to level at 3-3 after wins from Sean Ashburner and Dale Jacob.
The visitors won the first pairs, but the Bell hit back to triumph 5-4.
The Black Bull raced into a 3-0 lead against George A, but were pegged back and had to win two of the pairs’ matches to eventually run out 5-4 winners.
In Ladies’ Section 1, TJ’s A saw off Red Lion 5-4.
Sue Smith, Chris Thompson, Caroline Caldcutt and Sue Steadman put the visitors 4-2 ahead after the singles.
And although Red Lion won two of the three pairs’ clashes, TJ’s did just enough to claim victory.
