KENJI McDade produced a sensational display to be crowned the open and junior champion at the Swim England South East Regional Winter Championships in Ports-

mouth.

The City of Oxford member produced an unbelievable swim in the 400m individual medley, knocking ten seconds off his entry time to lift the title.

He went on to take junior silvers in the 200m butterfly and 200m breaststroke, plus bronze in the 100m breaststroke.

It was an event to remember for City, who won 12 gold, 14 silver and nine bronze medals against the best swimmers from the south east.

Many qualified for the Short Course Winter Championships next month, with four – Connor Bryan, Daniel Jenkins, David Murphy and McDade – selected to represent the region for the Flanders Cup in Antwerp, Belgium, in January.

Illizane Pinfold, won gold in the junior 50m breaststroke to become open and junior champion.

In the men’s open 200m breaststroke, Murphy (gold), Bryan (silver) and Billy Wotton (bronze), made it a City one-two-three.

Murphy completed his own clean sweep by becoming open champion in all three breaststroke events (50m, 100m and 200m), breaking the 50m and 100m county records.

Bryan won open gold in the 200IM and silver in the 100m breaststroke.

Wotton took his haul to five, becoming junior champion in the 200m breaststroke and also picked up silver in the 100m breaststroke, 200m IM and bronze in the open.

Nicole Ryan sealed bronze in the open 800m freestyle, with other podium places going to Emily Ford, Mimi Morley-Iszatt, Safiya Sillah, Max Bolcato, Daniel Jenkins, Nick Skelton and Luke Wilby.
