DAVE Rose pulled off a great result in the Premier League Individual Cup, beating Mark Trafford, writes PETE EWINS.
The Masons man had to do it the hard way, however, as Trafford, from West Oxford Democrats Club, won the first leg by 3,320 points.
Rose hit back to take the second leg, and claimed a 8,700-7,310 aggregate victory.
Also through at Headington Conserative Club was Ian Gordon, who beat Dave Tooke 2-0 with aggregate scores of 6,740-4,900.
John Patey defeated Bob Pincombe 2-0 (6,290-5,610) in the Pat Webber Cup.
Dave Gordon also went through, edging out John Boal.
In the Men’s Individual Cup, held at the Masons Club, Allan Lacey saw off David Naylor 3,780-3,190, with Alan Oliver defeating Sid Ponting 8,900-4,820.
Mike Jones recorded the highest score of the night in his victory over Alan Lowe at the Democrats Club.
Jones hit a break of 8,700 in his 11,330-4,330 aggregate success.
Phil McFarland beat Pauline Withey 2-0 (8,630-5,440) in their Captain’s Cup match held at the Vikings Club.
