WANTAGE Town’s Buildbase FA Vase run was ended by a 2-1 second round home defeat to Deeping Rangers.

Danny Durkin put the visitors from Lincolnshire in front on 18 minutes, but Jim Glover levelled on the

half-hour mark.

It did not inspire the home side to kick on, though, and Deeping’s control of the second half was rewarded ten minutes after the break when Durkin scored his second of the afternoon.

Troy Bryan scored twice to help Ardley United to a 4-0 thumping of hosts Longlevens in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

Bryan opened the scoring midway through the first half and the in-form Tobias London doubled the lead before the break.

Billy Gillett’s penalty made the points safe, before Bryan completed the scoring on the rebound after Tom Moore’s free-kick hit the woodwork.

Abingdon United stayed bottom with a 3-2 defeat at Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

Nathan Baker put the visitors in front, but they could not hang on to the lead and Tom Butler’s late strike was just a consolation.

Shrivenham were on the wrong end of an upset in the Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup.

They lost 2-0 at Division 2 West side Moreton Rangers, whose goals came in the second half.

  • GEORGIA Timms’s 70th-minute effort earned a point for Oxford United Women at Cardiff City.

The hosts led inside the opening two minutes through Kylie Nolan and after both sides hit the woodwork, Timms earned a 1-1 draw in the National League Southern Premier Division fixture.

United’s next game is at home to Plymouth Argyle on Sunday.
