ROB Sinclair scored twice as Oxford City booked their place in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 5-0 victory at home to Hemel Hempstead Town.

Reece Fleet, Craig Fasanmade and Kyran Wiltshire also netted to secure a tie against Sky Bet League Two side Tranmere Rovers next month as well as £25,000 in prize money.

City needed an own goal from former stopper Laurie Walker at the weekend to just be in the hat for yesterday's draw.

And they took the lead after 20 minutes of the fourth qualifying round replay against their Vanarama National League South counterparts when Fleet bundled home.

Hemel should have equalised seven minutes later, but Steve Cawley volleyed over from 12 yards as the hosts led 1-0 at the break.

City needed goalkeeper Craig King to make a fine save at the start of the second half, but they doubled their lead when Sinclair rounded Walker and slotted home.

Their passage into the first round was confirmed when Fasanmade and Wiltshire netted their first goals for the club, before Sinclair made it 5-0 in injury time.

Meanwhile, Didcot Town lost 4-3 at home to Berkhamsted in Evo-Stik South League Division 1 Central.

The Railwaymen fell behind straight from the kick-off when Will Summerfield’s long-range effort looped over goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell.

Adam Learoyd equalised on 17 minutes, but Matt Bateman’s penalty soon restored Berkhamsted’s lead.

Didcot had a spot-kick of their own shortly after, but Morgan Williams hit a post.

And they were punished for that miss as Bateman made it 3-1 to Berkhamsted at half-time.

Didcot cut the deficit through Brett Gardner’s diving header, but Berkhamsted quickly responded when Ryan Kinnane netted.

Seth Humphries converted a penalty with 17 minutes remaining to set up a tense finale, but they were unable to find an equaliser.
