Oxford Cheetahs' Sam Martin is expected to shake off a sprained ankle in time for tonight's Conference League trip to Stoke.

It is the first of five meetings in six days for Oxford.

Cheetahs, who will be without Jordan Frampton at Loomer Road - he is riding for Premier League Somerset - were 57-35 victors against the Spitfires at Cowley on July 29, so will gain three points if they win tonight.

With Dakota North returning home to Australia, it leaves a vacancy at reserve for Oxford. Scott Campos is ruled out by work commitments, while Matt Bates still has to face a medical test before he can return to action.

It is possible the No. 6 spot could be filled by Dan Blake, who had a spell with the Cheetahs in July.

Stoke: Evans R/R, Legg, Bethell, Dore, Branney, Kendrew, Isherwood.

Oxford: Smethills, Hughes, Bargh, Martin, Betson, TBA, Johnson.
