THAME United boss Mark West says the re-signing of last season’s leading scorer Lynton Goss should provide a real boost to his side.

Goss, who rejoins the club from Harrow Borough, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s Buildbase FA Trophy preliminary round trip to Division 1 South outfit Larkhall Athletic.

West said: “The last couple of years Lynton had done well for us.

“I don’t think he was enjoying his time at Harrow – it just wasn’t working out for him – so it’s great to have him back.”

Liam Tack and Aaron Jewell return after missing last weekend’s derby defeat at Didcot.

West added: “This is an important cup for us. We haven’t done well in the cups in recent years. We really need to try to get through a couple of rounds.”

Didcot Town boss Andy Ballard says the departure of Stuart Cattell is a blow ahead of their home clash with Hertford Town.

The defender has joined Thatcham Town, with Ballard praising his contribution while at the club.

“It’s a shame we’ve lost Stuart,” the manager said.

“He’s been a fantastic player for us and has had a huge influence on the squad. Stuart came to us in a time of real need and was a massive factor in our success last season.

“He goes with our best wishes though, and he knows the door is always open for him.”

Callum McNish (calf) and Aaron Woodley (knee) face fitness tests, while Luke Carnell may be missing as his wife is expecting their first child.

North Leigh boss Craig Dore names an unchanged squad from the one that lost last week at Berkhamsted for their trip to Division 1 South side AFC Totton.

Dore said: “We played well again last week, but were undone by three defensive errors. If we can stamp these out, we will start going in the right direction.”

Kidlington are hoping to have at least one new face in their squad for the trip to Mangotsfield United.

Declan Benjamin is expected to sign, with boss Ady Fuller also looking to bring in a new striker.

“Declan trained with the squad this week and hopefully will sign in time for Saturday’s game,” he said.

“We desperately need to add a striker and there will be two or three seven-day approaches going in.”

Tom Castle, Jack Quainton, Ben Willoughby, Liam Talboys, Joey Cowlishaw and Luke Pearless return, but Brandon Oddy and Tom Franks are missing.

Banbury United manager Mike Ford is backing Greg Kaziboni to make an impact at his former club tomorrow.

The Puritans travel to unbeaten Biggleswade Town in Evo-Stik South League Premier Division Central, and for Kaziboni it is a return to the club he left in the summer.

“Greg has been a great signing for us, and I’m sure he will want to show Biggleswade what they’ve been missing,” Ford said.

“I hope the game is set up for him to show his former club he’s made the right decision to come to us.”

Ford was encouraged with his side’s defensive display in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Tamworth.

“Our goals against column hasn’t been great recently, but I was pleased with our performance against Tamworth. We got back to making ourselves hard to break down.”

Jack Self is unavailable after picking up a knock last week.
