Oxford City reached the Women's FA Cup second qualifying round after a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Gloucester City.

The first round tie was switched to Court Place Farm due to the flood damage suffered by Gloucester in the summer.

City went ahead in the first minute when Louise Craig forced the ball over the line after they hit the bar with their first attack.

Gloucester spurned several chances before Steph Mobbs showed strength and tenacity to hold off her marker and double City's lead in the 35th minute.

The second half saw chances for both sides, with each hitting the woodwork.

City have been drawn at home to Henley Town in the next round on Sunday, September 30.

Carterton set up a home tie with Bracknell Town after edging out Stoke Lane (Bristol) 2-1 at Kilkenny Lane.

The visitors started the brighter, and Carterton's back four were kept busy.

Their pressure finally paid off in the 30th minute when a speculative shot struck Kirsten Fagg's arm as she attempted to stop it hitting her in the face.

The resulting penalty was slotted away, and Stoke continued to pressurise Carterton's goal for the remainder of the half.

It was an entirely different story after the break as Carterton got themselves on top.

Their hard work was rewarded 15 minutes from time when Lauren Spragg fired in an effort from a tight angle to level the scores.

With extra time looming, Carterton snatched victory.

The ball fell to the impressive Ann Harvey and her shot from distance flew in off a post.

Brize Norton crashed out as they were thumped 11-1 by Newbury.
