EDDIE Pepperell is bang in contention at the KLM Open in Holland after producing a super opening round.
The Abingdon golfer fired a five-under-par 66 in Spijk, to lie two shots off the lead.
Pepperell, looking for a high finish in order to boost his chances of making the world's top-50 by the end of the season, got off to a flying start with back-to-back birdies.
He picked up another shot at the par-five sixth, before his round really gathered pace with birdies at the tenth, 11th and 12th holes.
The only blemish on his card came at the 15th, where a bogey six saw him slip back.
