EDDIE Pepperell goes into today’s KLM Open in Holland as the bookmakers’ favourite to win the first prize of €300,000.
The Frilford Heath golfer, seeking a high finish in Spijk to boost his hopes of a world top-50 placing by the end of the year, is as low as 14-1, just ahead of fellow Englishman Lee Westwood.
Currently ranked at 64, the Abingdon ace knows that a place in the top 50 would gain automatic entry to the US Masters and World Golf Championship events in 2019.
Pepperell will tee off his first round today at 12.35, in the company of Frenchman Romain Wattel and young Indian player Shubhankar Sharma.
