OXFORD Hawks began their warm-up for the Investec Womens Conference West campaign with encouraging displays at a pre-season tournament.

Hosts University of Birmingham, a Premier League side, were beaten 4-0 in the opening game.

Becky Odlin opened the scoring just before half-time with a short corner.

Katie Lowe’s double in the second half sandwiched a Catherine Reaney strike.

They followed it up with a 2-2 draw against Conference North outfit Ben Rhydding.

The Yorkshire side twice led, but were pegged back by goals from Caro Harris.

Elsewhere, Hawks’ men had two friendlies, drawing 1-1 with Southgate and losing 3-1 to University of Birmingham.
