WATLINGTON and Headington A will contest the Oxford & District League Cup final after nail-biting last-four victories.

Both semi-finals, held at South Oxford, finished in the dark.

Watlington overcame

five-time finalists Oxford City & County 64-60.

City, seeking to finish the season on a high after their first relegation from the top flight, trailed by eight shots at halfway but fought back strongly.

However, skip Chris Lewis’s three shots on the final end were not enough to save the day.

The other semi-final was even closer, with Headington, aiming to complete the league and cup double, being given a fright by West Witney.

The Division 1 champions led by 11 shots at halfway, but Witney won most of the final ends before being edged out 67-65.

The final takes place tonight under the Kidlington BC floodlights.
