TEN-MAN Didcot Town booked their place in the first qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 1-0 win at Aylesbury last night.

The Railwaymen had Michael Alexis sent off for a bad foul with 33 minutes of their preliminary round replay remaining.

But Andy Ballard’s side secured a trip to Wingate & Finchley when Brett Gardner scored with 20 minutes to go, firing home left-footed after a Morgan Williams cross.

They will be joined by Wantage Town, who also triumphed 1-0 in their replay at home to Slimbridge.

The only goal of the game came on 62 minutes, Steve Robertson finding the net.

The Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division leaders will now face an away match at Bishop’s Cleeve.

  • RICKY Johnson hit a 16-minute hat-trick as Banbury United eased to a 5-1 victory at North Leigh in the Evo-Stik Southern League Challenge Cup.

Johnson’s 38th-minute goal put Banbury 1-0 ahead at

half-time.

Further efforts on 51 and 54 minutes saw him complete his treble, before Giorgio Rasulo made it 4-0 from the penalty spot and Amer Awadh hit No 5.

North Leigh pulled one back through Martin Griggs, but it was too little, too late.
