THAME United boss Mark West is loving life at the top of the table, but knows his side are now there to be shot at.

Boasting a 100 per cent record in Division 1 Central of the Evo-Stik South League, Thame tomorrow host Yaxley at the ASM Stadium.

“We’ve had a good start and the points that we’ve picked up aren’t against sides that are going to be struggling this year, so in that respect, it’s been good,” said West, who names an unchanged squad.

“I’m certainly not getting carried away though, as I think the league is going to be a tough one.

“Being at the top, someone is going to want to knock us down.”

North Leigh joint boss Craig Dore is delighted with the way his new-look side have started their campaign, and is calling for more of the same when they travel to Barton Rovers tomorrow.

The Millers beat local rivals Didcot Town on Monday – and Dore’s young guns have earned rave reviews for their early season league performances.

Dore said: “We’ve put together a young side full of local lads. Everyone is together, and long may that continue.”

Dore is also pleased with the attendances so far at Eynsham Park, which have increased significantly so far.

“I think with the local players, it’s attracted more interest, and I’d like to think we’ve entertained them well so far.”

Jack Tutton returns after recovering from a bruised foot.

“We don’t know a lot about Barton, I don’t think we’ve ever played them. But then they won’t know much about us either. We’re just looking to continue our decent start,” he said.

Didcot manager Andy Ballard is calling for a quick reaction to Monday’s defeat when they entertain Cambridge City tomorrow.

Ballard was angry at his side’s performance at Eynsham Park, calling the display “embarrassing”.

But he is backing his side to bounce back tomorrow against a side hotly tipped to be challenging this season.

“After the result at North Leigh, it’s vital that we produce a performance,” he said. “It’s a game that will be tough, but I am confident that I’ll see a reaction from my players, as we often have done before.”

George Reid and David Murphy are on the injury list, while Ollie Thomas and Seth Humphries are unavailable.

Kidlington will have their work cut out to end their horrendous start to the season when they travel to unbeaten Peterborough Sports.

The Greens are bottom of the table with no points and a goal difference of -19 after just three games.

Boss Ady Fuller is missing suspended duo Kane Finney and Luke Pearless, but has put in a number of seven-day approaches in a bid to strengthen his squad.

BANBURY United boss Mike Ford may have to make changes to his side for the first time this season.

The Puritans boss has named the same XI for the opening four games of the Evo-Stik South League Premier Central campaign.

But with a few players battling injury, Ford could be forced to shuffle his pack.

“We have got a couple of players struggling with knocks,” he said.

“I have a decision to make there and also I might try to bring in a new face too.”

Banbury have made an encouraging start to life in a new league, although their manager was frustrated they only drew at home to Stratford Town on Monday.

“We were disappointed because we didn’t play anywhere near as well as in the previous games,” he said.

“Having said that we never looked like losing the game, it was just we didn’t do enough to win it.”

Banbury Utd (v Hitchin, away): from Goff, Hawtin, Ngathe, Gabbidon, Wise, Henderson, Finch, Self, Diggin, Shamsi, Kaziboni, Awadh, Baker, Bell, Johnson, Macdonald.
