OXFORD United have cut ticket prices for their home clash against Shrewsbury Town as part of their 125th anniversary celebrations.

The U’s made a special request to have a home game on October 27, which is the same date the club were formed in 1893.

To mark the occasion, where they aim to attract a gate of 10,125, adult prices have been cut to £12.50, while the rate for under sevens is £1.25.

There will be special events planned on the day, while the Oxford Ultras are fundraising for what they describe as their biggest ever display.

United have also announced there will be a black tie event at the Sheldonian Theatre and Bodleian Library in the evening.

As part of the celebrations, the Oxford Mail will be producing a special 124-page commemorative magazine, published on the day.

And we are giving readers the chance to feature, but submitting, in no more than 30 words, what Oxford United means to them.
