MATT Lawday has re-signed for Oxford City Stars.

The 27-year-old scored 17 goals and provided 20 assists last season as the Stars stormed to league and cup glory, and the former Basingstoke Buffalo and Solent Devils players had no hesitation in re-committing to the Stars.

He said: “It’s a great club and last season was a real highlight of my career with winning the double and scoring my highest points (return) to date.

“We have a strong squad again this season and there is plenty of competition for places. I am sure the team spirit will be great again.

“I can’t wait to get going and continue to progress my career and the club.”

Head coach Kenny Redmond said: “Matt knows how to find the net, has a great eye for goal and can score out of nothing.

“He gives us further strength in depth and a great option offensively.”
