JAMIE Pancott won an exciting duel with Jamie Godfrey to win Yarnton & District AC’s Summer League.

Going into the final round, fished on the Thames at Yarnton Meadow, Pancott held a one-point lead over his nearest rival.

In strong winds, Pancott, drawn on one of the end pegs (which was also the golden peg), put 7lb 15oz 0 drms on the scales.

This was made up of silvers and one big bream.

Godfrey came second with 6.12.0, including five pounds of roach which netted him the Roach Cup. Harry Oliver was third with 5.7.0.

Pete Clarke claimed Littlemore AS’s Tony Perks Roach Cup, fished on the Thames at Sandford.

Clarke, with a fine net of red fins, won with 14.0.0.

In-form Steve Pope was second with 9.5.0, with Dave Allsworth third (6.13.0).

Nigel Payne collected the Mac MacGregor Cup after winning Kidlington AS’s sixth points match at Bransons End on the Cherwell.

Payne won with 7.5.0, followed by John Coleman (North Oxford) with 3.7.0 and Ron Hillier on 2.4.0.
