DIDCOT Phoenix won the team event when the club hosted their Open ten-mile time trial along the A420 near Southmoor.

The Phoenix trio of Chris Boddy, Richard Gildea and Harri James fought off the challenge of Bicester Millennium and Cowley Road Condors for the title.

Boddy finished runners-up in the men’s race to Tim Cartwright (Newbury) who recorded 18mins 52 secs, only the second rider to go under 19 minutes.

Aimee Jones (Cowley Road Condors) won the women’s race.

She helped her club to the land the women’s team prize.
