EDDIE Pepperell makes his first outing since the US PGA Championship when he competes in this week’s Czech Masters in Prague.

The world No 60, from Abingdon, who finished joint 59th at Bellerive a fortnight ago, tees off at 7.05am (BST) today with South African Haydn Porteous and fellow Englishman Matt Wallace.

He will be joined in the field by Liam Robinson, son of former Oxford United captain Les.

The 28-year-old, who is attached to Tadmarton Heath GC, near Banbury, is a regular on the Challenge Tour.

It his, however, only his second appearance on the main European Tour, following his missed cut in this tournament last year.

Robinson tees off at 6.55am with Spaniard Pep Angles and France’s Sebastian Gros.

The Czech Masters is the penultimate tournament in which European players can earn points for next month’s Ryder Cup in Paris.

Pepperell currently stands tenth in the European points list, with the top four earning automatic selection.

So even a victory this week would be unlikely to see the Frilford Heath golfer qualify.
