Wes Bartlett says Oxford Downs should look back with pride on their semi-final run in the npower Village Cup.

Downs' skipper was clearly disappointed at the manner of their 49-run defeat to Findon after bowling them out for 142.

But he said: "It has been a fantastic tournament and the people who have come and supported us have been brilliant.

"We have shown that we can go out and play well.

"Because of the way we have got through, such as the bowl-out against Horspath, we thought luck would be on our side.

"We have now got to look forward to next year.

"We could have been knocked out many games ago. We have got to be thankful we got this far.

"Oxfordshire is a difficult league to get out of."

Bartlett added: "It is hard to go out at this stage. I just hope the guys take defeat as well as other sides we beat have.

"The run has been great for the club. It has brought everyone a lot of pleasure.

"I have enjoyed every minute of it. If I don't enjoy my cricket it is time for me to hang up my trousers.

"We just wish we had this number of people watching our league games."
